Aliya was born and raised in the D.C. Area and has always had an affinity for writing, typography and printography. It was working on her high school Yearbook Committee that sealed the deal and Aliya went on to major in Journalism and Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University. She began her career as a writer, editor, and web producer working for U.S. News & World Report, The Discovery Channel and Travel Channel before turning her interest to social media, graphic design and web marketing.

Aliya currently lives in Ashburn with her husband Justin, their two children Kyran and Ariana, and fluffy pup Dora. She enjoys traveling, barre workouts, cooking, watching terrible reality television, and spending weekends outside with her family.
